In 1939, Capehart introduced a line if instruments named “Panamuse by Capehart”.  These instruments were an attempt to trade off of the prestige of the Capehart name by offering a line of lower cost instruments.  These instruments substituted a standard drop-type record changer for the famous turn-over changer, but otherwise offered some of the same style and electronics as the more expensive Capehart Deluxe.  Generally speaking, the Panamuse used the least expensive Capehart tuner, speaker and amp and placed them in cabinets which were smaller and less elaborate than the standard Capehart offerings.  Prices ranged from about $200 to about $450.
